SPOILER ALERT: John Hurt Teases Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Role

John Hurt has dropped a heavy hint about the nature of his role in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special. Talking to East Anglian Paper the Eastern Daily press during a local event at Sheringham Little Theatre, John said that he plays “part of the Doctor” in a “kind of trinity” which includes David Tennant.

There has already been speculation over John's costume during filming which appears to have been a combination of the Ninth Doctor's leather jacket and the Eighth's cravat and shirt. Ingrid Oliver was also photographed on location at the Tower of London wearing the Fourth Doctor's trademark trailing scarf.

John Hurt joined current Doctor Matt Smith for filming along with David Tennant, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Billie Piper, Jemma Redgrave, Ingrid Oliver and Joanna Page. Filming on the special, which took place in South Wales and London, wrapped at the weekend. The 3D episode is expected to screen on BBC One on Saturday 23rd November.
