David Tennant has been linked to another movie project, this
one a BBC Films and Origin Pictures production filming in Scotland this
summer.
What We Did On Our
Holiday is written and directed by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, the
creators of the BBC TV comedy series Outnumbered.
The film, which employs the same semi-improvised techniques, follows a family on the verge of divorce on a stressful journey to visit relatives in Scotland .
Other rumoured cast include Billy Connolly, Rosamund Pike and Ben Miller.
Synopsis
A family going through a tough time undertake a road trip to
Scotland
for the grandfather’s 75th birthday but encounter chaos along the way. The two
harassed parents try to manage their three astute children.
Speaking to film industry publication Screen last year,
Guy Jenkin said: "We're taking the techniques from Outnumbered to make a distinctive but broadly appealing
British comedy that reflects much of contemporary family life, and it should be
unlike anything that's been seen before. Andy and I are excited to be working
with Origin and the BBC on this".
The film shoots on location in Scotland from mid-June till the end
of July for a 2014 release.
Baz Bamigboye in the Daily Mail has today linked David and Rosamund Pike to the project: read more here
