David Tennant will be one of the judges of this year's Virgin Media Shorts competition which aims to showcase some of the best aspiring filmmaking talent around. David will join head judge, This Is England and The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone director Shane Meadows on the panel along with director Mat Whitecross (Spike Island), critic James King, former competition winner Jason Wingard, photographer John Wright, and Cindy Rose of Virgin Media.

officially open for business and on hand once again to showcase your filmmaking
talents. Did you miss us? Because we missed you.
Now in our sixth year, we're the UK 's biggest short film
competition. Dedicated to championing undiscovered talent, we've become a
helpful stepping stone into the movie industry for many young, talented
filmmakers. Just ask the likes of Luke Snellin, Jason Wingard and Jennifer
Sheridan. So if you want the chance to have your film seen by an audience of
thousands, screened in cinemas nationwide, win £30,000 worth of funding for
your next film AND gain expert mentoring from the BFI, then simply get yourself
registered and submit your film before July 18th 2013.

Members of the public will also get their chance to vote for their
favourite in the Nikon People’s Choice award, with the winner
receiving £5,000 of Nikon equipment.
