BBC Two comedy series Twenty
Twelve has received another awards nomination, this time for the Broadcasting
Press Guild Awards.
The spoof fly-on-the-wall documentary was nominated for Best
Entertainment / Comedy alongside Fresh
Meat (Channel 4) and The Thick Of It
(BBC Two). Twenty Twelve followed the
fortunes of the fictional Olympics Deliverence Committee in the run up to the
2012 London Games. It starred Hugh Bonneville, Olivia Colman and Jessica Hynes
with David Tennant providing a voiceover.
BBC Two drama series Parade’s
End starring Benedict Cumberbatch leads the nominations, being listed five
times in four categories. The BBC Two production of Richard II and its star Ben Whishaw are also nominated.
The BPG awards, which are voted for by journalists who write
about TV and radio, are sponsored by the Discovery channel and will take place
at One Whitehall Place
in central London
on Thursday 14th March.
