A screening of the first episode of Spies Of Warsaw was held at the Centre for Contemporary Art in
Warsaw yesterday. TVP confirmed that the series would be showing on Friday
nights from 11th January 2013 and will comprise of four episodes.
A translation of the report from the TVP website reads:
The production stars British actors David Tennant (as
Colonel Jean-Francois Mercier) and Janet Montgomery (in the role of Anna
Skarbek). We already know that a couple of the main characters survive a
stormy affair, and the whole series will be a different and interesting
perspective on World War II. The story begins in 1937. Colonel
Jean-Francois Mercier, a French embassy military attaché in Warsaw, carries out an additional espionage mission directed against Nazi Germany in
co-operation with Polish intelligence.
The website also includes some very brief video clips from
the series and an interview (in Polish) with star Marcin Dorocinski at a press conference
for the series last Friday.
Spies Of Warsaw
will be screening on BBC Four in the UK from Wednesday 9th January
and on BBC America from 6th February.
