Keep an ear out for an appearance by David Tennant on Christian O'Connell's Absolute Radio Breakfast Show tomorrow morning.
Christian and the Breakfast crew made a pledge that they would celebrate the GB Olympic squad's success in the Games by playing a version of the Spandau Ballet classic Gold for every gold medal that the team won. With the total now at twenty-nine golds, there will be a special souvenir edition of the show tomorrow morning (Monday 13th) where the pledge will be honoured.
Spandau Ballet lead singer Tony Hadley will be joining Christian in the studio to perform a live version of the track while other versions will be provided by Newton Faulkner and the Breakfast Show listeners. Christian also tweeted this morning that he had even got his good friend and occasional co-presenter David in on the act:
"We have an amazing spoken word version of 'Gold' recorded by David Tennant as if on stage at the RSC. It's brilliant. A luvvie remix!"
The Spandathon edition of the Absolute Radio Breakfast Show is on air between 6 - 10am tomorrow morning. David's version of Gold could be played at any time during the show. Listen live here
