Watch David's Radio 5 Live Interview

Earlier this afternoon David was interviewed by Simon Mayo on Radio 5 Live about his new film, The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists!
Speaking of the film David said that he'd been approached to take part in the project quite a while ago as he was still in Doctor Who at the time. He also spoke about his decision to use his native Scottish accent to voice his character, Charles Darwin, and said it was probably historically inaccurate as “Charles Darwin was never from Paisley”
David also spoke a bit about his future projects True Love and Postman Pat The Movie. He wasn't allowed to give much away about Postman Pat but he has confirmed that his character is a new one, not from the TV series, and he says he has based his accent on the actor Iain Cuthbertson. Speaking about True Love he said that will air on BBC One in the next few weeks.
You can download the show as an MP3 here.

  1. Is there any way those of us outside of the UK can watch the interview? I keep getting an error message that says "media selection request failed." I think it has something to do with the BBC iPlayer being limited to folks in the UK.
