On ITV1’s This Morning on 23 November, Ben Miller of Armstrong (Sarah Jane Adventures) & Miller let slip that David Tennant plays one of the ghosts in Catherine Tate’s upcoming Christmas Special. He added that David plays the role in the style of Russell Brand.
That takes David’s tally of known Christmas TV appearances up to 6 (Doctor Who/Catherine Tate Show/Hamlet/Never Mind the Buzzcocks/CBeebies/Alan Carr: Chatty Man) and he’ll also dominate the cinema with the release of St Trinian’s 2 plus no doubt a myriad of TV and radio interviews in the lead up to the regeneration.
Many thanks to Dominic May for the above. You can read Dominic's monthly column, Beyond The TARDIS, in Doctor Who Magazine.
The BBC Press Office has the following details on the show:
Catherine Tate - Nan's Christmas Carol
Nan is the star of this year's seasonal special from Catherine Tate.
The festive show sees Nan's acid-tongued insults catch up with her when the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, along with a dead husband, pay an unexpected visit, in this comic re-telling of Charles Dickens's tale A Christmas Carol.
Is it too late for Nan to swap her Scrooge-like misery for some seasonal goodwill?
The Christmas special sees Mathew Horne return as Nan's grandson, Jamie, and features appearances from special guests including Ben Miller and Only Fools And Horses actor Roger Lloyd Pack.
Edit: David will also be appearing on Qi
